Finally we're out the gates and we're telling the world that Stock Investor Network is here. Over the next few weeks we expect to have thousands of hits to the Stock Investor Network website. We're offering people who register 5 FREE e-books and not just any old e-books, but five quality publications that people normally have to pay for. We hope that this will encourage people to register and take part in building Africa's first web-based trader community.
The site is really stunning and we've received good feedback so far. There's lots to keep people engaged and to help them learn and become better stock investors. I'm confident that our web 2.0 strategy combined with social media and social marketing will help rocket us to the top of the charts. So far we're happy with the SEO and Google has managed to rank us on several of our keywords with a page one. Though I still see a few keywords where we are on page two and three, so some tweaking is still ahead. That said, I think that aging and also page visit counts and traffic will help to push those keywords to page one soon.
There's lots of misconception about the market. Sure it's a risky business, but I think that most of this risk stems from people who do not take time to learn. I hope that with Stock Investor Network people will be able to tap into the power of community-based knowledge and experience. I think that most people are willing to share experience and knowledge, I do however have my reservations as to whether professional traders in the broker houses will take the time out to participate. Speaking to the brokers out there, it's been amazing how so many just don't get it. They totally miss the exposure opportunity here and the ability it has for them to attract new clients. Of course they all want advertising and exposure for free, but don't seem to want to spend some time helping others in order to get it. The big boys are the worst. They have an attitude of you need us there because of who we are, so you must give them what they want. They forget that this is social media and that if they don't participate they won't be missed just as much as they won't be noticed. Well, I guess time will tell. If the site takes off like I think it will, I expect to get some very embarrassed people contacting me. Enough of the negative. We're committed and confident that Stock Investor Network will be a great success and will have a positive impact of people to take part.
