It is so good to see that the South African real estate investor community is starting to get more organized. We have traditionally been a very distributed bunch of people, everyone unaware of the other. Site like Property Investor Network are going a long way to reshaping our knowledge of the property market in South Africa and giving us new opportunities for networking amongst ourselves. So it is great to see that property investors now also have a South African Magazine focused entirely on Real Estate Investing in South Africa.

The launch of the South African Real Estate INVESTOR Magazine has met with great success and much welcome by property investors and property professionals throughout the industry. The first issue of a magazine is always the hardest and I think Neale Petersen and his team have done an outstanding job. The magazine is comparable with major publications, gives clear accurate information and succeeds in avoiding the hype that surrounds most information presented by other property publications in the South African property industry. 

With such a great magazine, we have decided to develop a website so that people can have both a print and online version of the mag. The website is built on Joomla and of course uses the iJoomla Magazine Component and was developed by The Web Development Company .

The South African Real Estate INVESTOR Magazine website enables subscribers to manage both their online and offline subscriptions to the magazine. The website is completely e-commerce enabled, allowing subscribers with online access to read articles from the magazine in full. Those without online subscriptions can read only the first introduction paragraphs of each article. This serves as a complete online marketing tool with which we can drive magazine subscriptions. The website also has an affiliate program so that we can easily embark on and utilize the power of affiliate marketing.

Advertisers also have the ability to view information about the publication dates, material review times and the advertising rates. They can even purchase their advertising space directly through the website. To cater for the larger transaction values associated with advertising, we provide both secure online credit card and direct deposit (EFT) transaction processing abilities. Interestingly, something that I think is a major marketing plus, we have the ability for credit card users to choose between straight or budget payments. Providing both payment methods and the ability of doing straight or budget card transaction is just one more way that we can lower the barrier to entry for people wanting to subscribe to the magazine immediately.

The task now starts to market the website, building links, improving search engine rankings and generally improving the site over time. With six issues per year, there is much work ahead and it is going to prove to be a very exciting time for all.
